I've been debating back and forth about having a show on Friday and have decided that since I am preparing to host the Board of Directors retreat for the Southwestern Region of the American Music Therapy Association, that I will skip the show this week to prepare for that meeting.
I'll be back next week to talk about...well, I haven't decided that yet. Why don't you leave me a comment to let me know what topic you are interested in!
On August 20, Kat Fulton will be my guest to talk about her work and her blog. Check out this very cool video she did introducing boomwhackers to Lady Gaga. Who knew shoes had such drama?!
Music Therapy is the enhancement of human capabilities through the planned use of musical influences on human brain functioning. The Music Therapy Show with Janice Lindstrom is a discussion about what music therapy is and how to use it in your life. It is designed for Music Therapists looking for new ideas and people looking to use music to enhance their capabilities through the planned use of music on human brain functioning.

I wanted to reach out to you and ask if you know of volunteer opportunities in music therapy in Dallas. I'm looking into the Music Therapy equivalency program at SMU but in the meantime, would love to learn more about it through volunteering. I am a 2004 graduate from Trinity University with a degree in English and a minor in music (voice). I play piano and some guitar and have sung in choirs from a young age. Mostly, I have a passion for helping others and for music and have kept going back to music therapy as something I want to pursue to help others. If you know of a way I can get involved through volunteering, I would be very interested. I'm happy to meet with you to talk about opportunities, as well. Thanks so much!
