December 13, 2008 - Palliative Care & Hospice

This week my guest is Lisa Gallagher, MA, MT-BC, a clinical and research music therapist at The Cleveland Music School Settlement and The Cleveland Clinic and the Music Therapy Coordinator for the Cleveland Clinic. She has presented on local, regional, national, and international levels and has published articles in several journals. She currently is the Treasurer of the Great Lakes Region of the American Music Therapy Association, the Chair of the Certification Board of Music Therapists Board of Directors, and a recipient of the 2008 Blair L. Sadler International Healing Arts Award.

Hey Janice! Just listened to the Hospice and Palliative Care episode. I do hope hospice becomes more prevalent in the Dallas area; right now I just know of Faith and Seasons right now. I actually just gave an in-service about our integrated therapies/music therapy in hospice to about 20 social workers from the region at Dallas Presby , so hopefully the word will keep getting out!
